Comprehensive Pediatric Airway Management: From the Field to the PICU-Darrell Nelson

Based on the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma’s free online course, Drs. Darrell Nelson and Mark Piehl lead emergency medical professionals through the latest techniques for pediatric airway management encompassing care from the field to the Pediatric ICU. Topics covered include anatomy and physiology, approach to the child having difficulty breathing, foreign body airway obstruction, proper positioning for airway management, airway adjuncts, drug-assisted airway management in children, and post-intubation management.

Learning objectives:

Students will be able to identify the unique aspects of pediatric airway anatomy.

Students will be able to apply the skills of proper positioning to optimize airway management.

Students will be able to describe the appropriate medications for DSI.
