QI Summer School: Session I-Remle Crowe

You know you’ve got things that need improving, but where to start? In this session, we’ll start off with a look at the overall framework that will serve as our roadmap on this improvement journey. Then, we’ll get specific about how to create practical aims and avoid pitfalls. We’ll show how national reports and other tools can be leveraged in the development of a strong aim.

The objectives of this course include:

to state the three fundamental questions of the IHI Model for Improvement,

understand how to identify an area for quality improvement using data to guide the decision,

to describe each element of a SMART aim statement.
