Should We Use Triage Tags? The ASPR/TRACIE Whitepaper Panel-Jon Krohmer

What is the role, efficacy, and utility of triage in mass casualties? In early 2019 a group of subject matter experts in this field met to discuss triage best practices for public safety. Join some of these experts as they explore the results of this collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). Together these entities maintain the Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) to provide disaster planning guidance to public safety groups.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to describe the purposes of triage and how this relates to saving lives.

2. Participants will be able to judge the pros and cons of using triage tags.

3. Participants will be able to evaluate the history of triage and its usefulness to scenes of mass casualties.
